Bad Weather In Bloomfield, Forecasters Say: Snow, School, Parking
Bloomfield is preparing for an early winter storm that's predicted to hit towns across New Jersey.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bad weather may be on the way, forecasters say. And Bloomfield is among the towns preparing for an early winter storm that’s predicted to cause problems across New Jersey.
In some parts of the state, forecasters are calling for as much as a foot of snow on Monday and early Tuesday. The forecast for Bloomfield was more modest, with the National Weather Service predicting daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches and nighttime snow accumulation of an extra 2 to 4 inches.
“As weather conditions deteriorate, we remind you to drive slowly and allow extra stopping time in case of slippery roads,” Bloomfield public safety officials warned Sunday night. “If you do not need to leave the house, we urge you to stay home and enjoy the beautiful sight of the snowfall from the comfort of your home!

The Bloomfield Division of Public Safety reminded residents that there are several streets within the Township that are considered “snow streets.” If there is a sign posted on their street, residents must remove their vehicles when the road is snow-covered or may be subject to ticketing and/or towing.

TREE LIGHTING POSTPONED

Due to bad weather, the Township of Bloomfield’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting event at the Bloomfield Township Building, 1 Municipal Plaza, was rescheduled.
A new date will be announced Monday or Tuesday, officials said.
The event will feature caroling by Bloomfield High School Choir and local Girls and Boy Scouts, and is open to the public.
