Bloomfield Animal Shelter's 'Longest Resident' Cat Needs A Break

Dumped on a doorstep in a box with her kittens, the "longest resident cat" of the Bloomfield Animal Shelter needs a forever home.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The “longest resident cat” of the Bloomfield Animal Shelter needs the community’s help.

On Monday, staff at the shelter put out a social media call to help find MaryAnn another home… and hopefully a permanent one. The feline had been staying in a foster home for the past six weeks, but will have to return to the shelter if a home isn’t found by then.

According to the Bloomfield Animal Shelter, MaryAnn deserves a break:

“For those unfamiliar, MaryAnn is our longest resident cat. She was dumped at our doorstep in a box with her kittens last May. Not surprising, her kittens were adopted quickly leaving mama behind. MaryAnn does NOT show well in a cage. She keeps to herself and doesn’t show off her true personality, leaving potential adopters to pass her up. In foster, we learned she is sweet and affectionate, likes the resident dogs and cat, is a fan of belly rubs, and playing with toys. She is only about 2 to 3 years old, and would love to move to a permanent home where she can continue living happily, instead of returning to the shelter.”
