“Our specialized weather forecast is currently predicting 3 to 6 or more inches of snow starting tomorrow morning (1/4/18) at approximately 3 to 4 a.m. This forecast also calls for wind gusts over 40 mph, therefore, visibility will be extremely limited and rush hour driving may become hazardous. We are preparing as we speak and we will do our best to make our roads as safe as possible.”

According to the DPW's Wednesday announcement:

  • Please note garbage pickup tomorrow will be on as scheduled, as well as cardboard/paper recycling. Due to the strong winds, please make sure that your recycling is secured properly.
  • If possible, please hold off on placing your Christmas trees (Thursday's route) at the curb until Friday.
  • Remove any portable basketball rims from the street and if you have a driveway, please utilize it so we can salt and plow efficiently.
  • Bloomfield residents with a DPW or parks-related question, issue or service request can call 973-680-4127.
