Bloomfield Bombers Travel Baseball Team Wins 2016 The Bigs Spring League
The championship game was played on Sunday, June 12 against the Parsippany Panthers.

The Bloomfield Bombers 16U travel baseball team won the 2016 The Bigs Spring League, JV Division. The championship game was played on Sunday, June 12 against the Parsippany Panthers at Parsippany Hills High School. The Bombers won an exciting game by the score of 6-5.
Elliot Urgent started for the Bombers on the mound and pitched a complete 7-inning game for the victory. He allowed three earned runs on eight hits and no walks. He struck out six Panthers batters. The pitching was backed up by strong defensive plays by J.J. Mendoza, Vinnie Torrisi, Kyle DiMatteo, Desmond Soto-Schwartz and Brandon Kelly.

At the plate, the Bombers were led by Robert Reboa who went three for four with an RBI and two runs scored. Elliot Urgent went two for three with a walk and a run scored. Brandon Kelly went two for four with a RBI. Michael Ancey went two for four. J.J. Mendoza went one for four with an RBI. Robert Gilmore went one for three. Matt Mincolelli went one for four. Jon Gugliemino walked twice and scored two runs. Vinnie Torrisi walked twice and scored a run.
This youthful Bombers team, made up primarily of 14 and 15-year-old players, was expertly guided by Head Coach Dan McDowall and assistant coaches Renato Reboa, John McAndrew and Jerry Guarabasco.
