According to Bloomfield municipal officials:

“During the first two and a half days of work, from September 27 at 10 p.m. until the early morning on Monday, Sept. 30, the bridge will be closed to cars and pedestrians in both directions. After the weekend, beginning on Sept. 30, the bridge will be open in the westbound direction only until evening on Oct. 11 to perform the work on the eastbound half of the bridge. Traffic wanting to cross in the eastbound direction will follow the detour plan. (south on John F. Kennedy Drive North to east on to Liberty St. to north on Williamson Ave.) Pedestrians will have access to the westbound side of the bridge.”

Detour signs have been posted for both directions, Bloomfield officials said.

J.M. Sanzari Construction Company is the contractor assigned to the project. Updates will be posted on the Bloomfield municipal website, officials said.
