Bloomfield Civic Band Concert: ‘Swing Into Spring’
The show at Bloomfield Middle School will feature works "exploring the many facets of jazz," organizers said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Civic Band, under the direction of Frank Ortega, will present its spring concert, “Swing Into Spring: A Celebration of Jazz,” on Sunday, April 7.
According to a news release, the concert will take place at 3 p.m. at the Bloomfield Middle School, 60 Huck Road. The show will feature works exploring the many facets of jazz, including “Caravan” by Duke Ellington, “Come Fly With Me” by Cahn & Van Heusen and “The Girl From Ipanema” by Antonio Carlos Jobim.
The talents of many band members will be showcased as they perform solos in the improvisational style and tradition of jazz, organizers stated.

Tickets purchased at the door cost $15 for regular admission, and $10 for seniors and students. Children under 12 years old are free. Discount tickets can be obtained prior to the concert from any Civic Band member or from the Civic Center.
