Bloomfield Filmmaker Shoots Horror Movie At Kip’s Castle

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — There’s horror brewing in Essex County.
Earlier this month, filming for Theatre of Terror’s “Soothsayer” took place at Essex County’s historic Kip’s Castle in Verona. The movie – which weaves together four, short horror tales – are the brainchild of Bloomfield’s Thomas Ryan.

Essex County Freeholder Carlos Pomares, another Bloomfield resident, shared a message about his visit to the set of the new movie:
“As part of the shoot, a classic car was needed for exterior shots – enter Bloomfield Cruiser Michael Sceurman and his 1967 Chevy Nova,” Pomares recalled, sharing a few photos from the day.

“Ryan announced that he will be launching a new Indiego-go campaign in the coming weeks in order to raise the funding needed to deliver a next-level, mind-boggling and terrifying feature film for their loyal fans,” Pomares added. “So when you see it, please consider supporting.”
Here’s how Theater of Terror describes the upcoming film, which features Anthony Robert Grasso, Samantha Lacey Johnson and Denis Ooi:
“A brilliant scientist (Grasso) and his assistant (Johnson) discover the secret of time travel albeit with certain limitations. When he demonstrates his new device for an old colleague (Ooi), he catches a horrifying glimpse of what the future holds and is determined to prevent it.”
