Bloomfield Harvest Fest Canceled Over Coronavirus Concerns
The Bloomfield event, which draws thousands of people, is too large to carry out safely, organizers said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Center Alliance (BCA) is canceling this year’s Harvest Fest due to concerns related to the coronavirus.
The outdoor fall festival traditionally takes place the first weekend of October, along several blocks near the township’s downtown district.
BCA Executive Director Ollyn Lettman cited the current COVID-19 pandemic and “the likelihood that it will remain a health concern for months to come” as the reason for the cancellation.

“The BCA board of directors, in consultation with the township’s administration, decided that the scale and scope of the event, which has in the past drawn several thousand people on a given day, is too large when considering the safety of the public in today’s reality,” Lettman said.
The BCA has moved forward with other events this summer that are smaller in scale. They include the Wednesday night series, Cruise Nights Car Shows that ran through the end of July, and the al fresco dining series “Dinner Under the Stars,” which will be take place until mid-fall.
