Bloomfield Mayor Says NJ COVID Aid Can Help Local Home Renters
Bloomfield Mayor: "Through no fault of their own, many residents have lost their jobs or a source of income during the COVID-19 crisis."
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — New Jersey is officially accepting applications for its latest round of coronavirus relief aid for renters and landlords, and Bloomfield officials are encouraging local residents in need to apply.
Last week, state officials announced that the popular, federally funded COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program will return for a second round. Read More: Extra Coronavirus Aid Offered For NJ Home Renters
About $353 million will be made available to low and moderate-income households that have had a substantial reduction in income as a result of the pandemic. The application period began on Monday, March 22. Learn more about the program here.

“Through no fault of their own, many residents have lost their jobs or a source of income during the COVID-19 crisis,” Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia said. “This has caused many people to fall behind on numerous bills including rent payments.”
“If you have been negatively impacted financially, you may qualify for this state assistance and you should apply as soon as the portal opens to potentially receive financial aid,” Venezia said.

Pre-applications will be accepted beginning at 9 a.m. on March 22 at https://njdca.onlinepha.com, and assistance is available at 609-490-4550.
