Bloomfield Memorial Day Parade 2019 Will Honor Fallen Veterans
Bloomfield residents and military veterans will gather to pay tribute to the nation's fallen servicemen and women on May 27.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield residents and military veterans will gather to pay tribute to the nation’s fallen servicemen and women at the town’s Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27.
According to a municipal news release, the parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. on the corner of Broad Street and Warren Street. It will march south on Broad Street to the reviewing stand on the Town Green in front of the Civic Center.
The family-friendly parade will include past and present veterans, community organizations, sports teams, classic/military vehicles and marching bands.

“The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department is proud to be part of this parade and show our respect to all of the service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms,” said Director Michael Sceurman.

Sceurman said that town officials are encouraging veterans to march in the parade and are willing to arrange transportation for any veteran who is unable to march.
Anyone with a classic car is also encouraged to participate and asked to email Sceurman at msceurman@bloomfieldtwpnj.com with the year, make and model of their car along with the owner’s name. Send emails with “Memorial Day” as the subject line.
“I would like to thank all of the parade participants, and especially the Bloomfield Joint Memorial Committee, which has been working diligently,” Mayor Michael Venezia said. “ I look forward to marching, and invite all Bloomfield residents to join us.”
