The Bloomfield Middle School chess team are getting used to saying "checkmate."
Three members of the team took home trophies in the Essex county gifted and talented steering committee team chess competition.
James Paule and Dakota Stefano took Fourth Place-Experienced Division. Nicole Pietroiacovo and Jacqueline Giunta took third Place in the Novice Division where Chase Fetherman and Marcus Wolf also captured sixth Place.
