“Born and raised in Belleville, he resided on Mill St. for many years. When he married Doris, the love of his life, he lived in Bloomfield for 30 years where they raised 3 daughters. In 1998, they moved south to Bayville, N.J. before settling in Brick, N.J. After earning his undergraduate degree in Accounting at Fairleigh Dickenson University, Rutherford, N.J., George started his professional career as an accountant for JH Cohn and later was Controller for Tappans Co. While working, he attended Seton Hall Law School at night earning his Juris Doctor. He was a member of both the New Jersey and New York Bar Associations. For many years thereafter, he ran his own law practice, George Delmarmo, Jr., Esq.
“Of the many scholarly and pedestrian pursuits, travel and writing might have been his greatest passions. Whether with family, friends, or even alone, George went all over the U.S. and the world, including stops on all 7 continents. Those in his life shared and reveled in these adventures from both his spoken and written word. Enjoying his books and plays as a result of his life, love, and work is something treasured he will leave behind for us.
