Bloomfield ‘Town Paints’ Will Spotlight Talent Of Local Artists

"Town Paints has become a wonderful Bloomfield tradition that people of all ages can enjoy," Mayor Michael Venezia said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Town Paints, the annual Bloomfield art exhibition for local artists of all media, ages and skill levels, will take place on Saturday, May 11 on the Historic Town Green at 84 Broad Street from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

According to a municipal news release, at the end of the event, artists will have the opportunity to be evaluated for their works, with winners receiving “awards, prizes and public recognition.”

Bloomfield Councilman Ted Gamble and Par-tee Fore the Arts! held a fundraiser in April which raised money to provide Art Supply Packs for the first 35 students to enter their works of art. Entry is free for children ages 6 through 17, organizers said.

“Town Paints has become a wonderful Bloomfield tradition that people of all ages can enjoy,” Mayor Michael Venezia said. “I would like to thank Councilman Gamble and the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department for sponsoring this year’s great event.”

“Bloomfield is a great place to live in part because of the many talented artists who call this town home, and it is an honor to be able to support the arts through events like Town Paints,” Gamble said. “This year, we will honor the winners of Town Paints by having their artwork displayed in the storefronts at The Green, 56 Broad Street in May and June.”
