Bloomfield Water Safe to Drink Again, Mayor Says

Latest water samples show no traces of the E. coli bacteria.

A boil-water advisory was lifted Saturday in Bloomfield after all 11 samples tested negative for the E. coli bacteria.

"We are back to normal," Mayor Michael Venezia wrote on his Facebook page Saturday afternoon.

The entire town had been under a mandatory boil-water advisory after E. coli bacteria was found last week in Bloomfield's water supply.

The original samples were taken on Monday and revealed traces of the bacteria that's indicative of human or animal wastes in the water.

However, the water is now safe for consumption.
