Burglaries Reported In Bloomfield At Pizzeria, Private Home
A pair of separate burglaries took place in Bloomfield on the same day, police said. One involved a local pizzeria.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A pair of separate burglaries recently took place on the same day in Bloomfield, authorities said.
On Wednesday, the Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident.
May 22 – “Officers responded to 48 Washington Street (Italia Pizzeria) on report of a burglary. When the officers arrived on scene, they observed the front door to be smashed with a rock. The officers observed the cash register draw to be open and money stolen from inside the register. This incident is under investigation.”

May 22 – “Officers responded to the 200-block of Belleville Avenue on report of a burglary into a residence. The resident’s mother, who was house sitting in her daughter’s absence, reported that upon her arrival, she observed the kitchen window screen was cut and taken out of the frame. The point of entry was made through that same window. CSU processed the scene and this incident is under investigation.”
