BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police arrested a man who allegedly burglarized a home on Clinton Street last week, then tried to climb through the window of another residence nearby, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the area on May 25 after getting a report about a burglary.

A witness told officers that she saw a man break the rear window of her neighbor’s home, then try to climb through another window of a different residence. When she attempted to confront the man, he fled the area on foot, police said.

Patrol officers were able to locate and apprehend a suspect, Shaquan Parker, 33, of East Orange, who was positively identified and charged with burglary, authorities said.

Parker was also charged with an additional attempted burglary of a residence on Glenwood Avenue, police added.

Parker was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, police said.
