Car Stolen In Bloomfield, Found In Post Office Parking Lot: PD

A car stolen in Bloomfield was found three days later in the parking lot of a local U.S. Post Office, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A car recently stolen in Bloomfield was found three days later in the parking lot of a local U.S. Post Office, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the 500-block of Bloomfield Avenue on March 12 after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft.

The owner said she left her vehicle running in front of the store, but was in possession of her key fob. She entered the store, but when she returned about five minutes later the car was gone.

The vehicle, a 2013 Mazda CX-5, was found on March 15 in the rear parking lot of the post office, police said.

The incident is under investigation, police said Thursday.
