Cars Stolen In Bloomfield While Delivering, Picking Up Food: PD

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield recently saw four stolen vehicles in four days, including two involving food, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were reported in the township:

Feb. 11 – “Officers responded to the 500 block of Bloomfield Avenue on report of a stolen vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was making a food delivery and left his vehicle running. When he returned to the vehicle a short time later, it was gone. The vehicle is a blue 2016 Ford Mustang and was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Feb. 12 – “Officers responded to Broughton Avenue on report of a stolen auto. The driver left his vehicle parked, running, unlocked, and with the keys inside, in front of his residence. When he returned to his vehicle approximately 10 minutes later, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle is a 2021 blue GMC Sierra pickup. The vehicle was located hours later in Newark. This incident is under investigation.”

Feb. 14 – “Officers responded to 41 Bloomfield Avenue on report of a stolen vehicle. At 9 p.m. the driver left his vehicle running while he was picking up food. When he returned, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle is a 2020 grey Toyota Rav4 and was entered NCIC stolen. The vehicle was recovered on Feb. 15 in Sands Point Village, Long Island, NY.”

Feb. 14 – “Officers responded to Ampere Parkway on report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was taken at 4 a.m. and was captured on surveillance video. The suspect, described as a male wearing all black, entered the vehicle which was parked in the driveway and fled north on Ampere Parkway. The vehicle was recovered the next day in East Orange. Investigation is ongoing.”
