Cat Survives Ride Underneath Hood Of Car, Found In Bloomfield

A driver discovered the cat when they parked their car in Bloomfield. He suffered some bumps and bruises, as well as a broken jaw.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A cat survived a bumpy ride after being trapped in the hood of a car on Monday, albeit with some injuries, the Bloomfield Animal Shelter reported.

According to a social media post from the shelter, the feline was discovered when the car parked on Cleveland Terrace near Llewellyn Avenue in Bloomfield.

The driver said they weren’t sure how long the cat was inside, and only drove locally in Bloomfield and Newark, the shelter reported.

“He received emergency medical care and it was determined that he suffered some bumps and bruises and a broken jaw,” shelter staff said. “Thankfully, he can still eat and drink and is stable.”

The cat is an adult neutered male and "doesn’t appear to be feral at all," the shelter added.
