Cats In Bloomfield Need Home, Owner’s Health ‘Rapidly Declining’
Bloomfield Animal Shelter: "We know they miss their mom and will hopefully get adopted together soon."

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A pair of bonded cats at the Bloomfield Animal Shelter are in desperate need of a new home, staff say.
Romeo and Juliet were recently surrendered due to an unfortunate, rapid decline in their owner’s health, the shelter wrote on social media.
“We commend this owner for making arrangements for her beloved cats during such a terrible time,” staff said. “We promised her we would find a home for this bonded pair that would love them furever!”

According to the shelter, Romeo and Juliet are 10-years-old, fully vetted and friendly.
“Right now they are very scared and shy,” the shelter wrote. “They will do best with a patient owner that will allow them space and time to decompress and adjust to their new life. We know they miss their mom and will hopefully get adopted together soon.”

The shelter has waived adoption fees for the feline duo as a way to help find them a new family. However, they didn’t receive any interest over the weekend, the shelter told Patch on Monday.

PAT THE CAT NEEDS A HOME
The shelter is also reducing its adoption fee for Pat, a cat surrendered due to changes in his home.
“Unfortunately, once the home welcomed a new baby, Pat began urinating outside of the litter box,” the shelter wrote on Nov. 15. “He is now hoping for a calm home that will love him furever.”
Pat is 7-years-old. He allows people to touch him, doesn’t seem to mind the other cats and is fully vetted, the shelter stated.
