Councilman Joanow Invites Public Input on Scientific Glass (Liongate) Property

At Councilman Nicholas Joanow October town hall meeting, he will explore the The Scientific Glass (Liongate) property's past, present and future.

The former industrial property is located at the end of Liongate Drive, off Broad Street and just south of the Glen Ridge Country Club. 

"I have been advocating  since 2001 to acquire this property as a new township park for active recreation," Joanow said in an announcement, adding that his vision for this property includes new soccer fields to accommodate the growing popularity of soccer in Bloomfield.

Joanow said he will discuss the history of this property and efforts to acquire it as a park, as well as the current status of those efforts, the steps needed for Bloomfield to obtain the property and how residents can help.

An open forum will follow his presentation. 

The meeting is on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 7:30 PM to 9 p.m. at the IHOP at 1129 Broad Street.
