CVS Expands COVID Vaccine Sites In NJ; Bloomfield Is On The List

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — CVS Pharmacy is expanding the number of New Jersey locations giving COVID-19 vaccines, and Bloomfield is on the list.

CVS Pharmacy was already administering vaccines as part of the Federal Pharmacy Program, which means they receive doses directly from the U.S. government separate from the New Jersey allocation.

This week, the company started receiving shipments of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, leading to more appointments and an expansion of sites where eligible New Jersey residents can get a shot – including Bloomfield.

Scheduling on CVS’ website began Friday, with inoculations set to begin Saturday. The website doesn’t offer additional information about vaccines in Bloomfield.

NEW JERSEY ELIGIBILITY

• Must live, work or study in New Jersey
• People age 65 and over
• Teachers K-12, daycare and preschool workers/staff
• People age 16 and over with medical conditions that increase the risk of severe illness from COVID-19
• First responders including law enforcement and fire professionals
• Heath care workers, residents and staff of long-term and congregate care
