Montclair Mountie Talajawon Golden dies at 18, Found At Pool Bottom
Golden graduated from Montclair High School in 2013; he was a student and football player at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.

Talajawon Golden has been identified as the Bloomfield man who was found at the bottom of a swimming pool in South Orange, police say.
According to police, Golden, 18, was swimming at a friend’s home when the accident occurred. He was discovered at the bottom of the pool at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 18.
“A teenager who works as a summer lifeguard at a pool in South Orange happened to be walking by the front of the house and responded to the calls for help, police said,” reports NJ.com.

Police said Golden was resuscitated and regained a pulse. He was then transported to St. Barnabas Hospital. Golden died the next day.
Beginning Tuesday afternoon, countless members of the Montclair community, including Golden’s former teammates, posted Twitter and Facebook statues and Instagram photos in his memory.

He was described as “a kindred spirit who touched the soul of all those he encountered,” an ambitious person and someone who would “go out of [his] way to make sure someone else was doing better than just alright.”
Golden was also known as someone who, “even though he didn’t have, would give his last to a person in need. He would do anything for nothing in return.”
Golden’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for funeral costs. The page remembers the teenager, saying, “he loved being a Montclair Mountie, he was so positive and caring and helped everyone he came in contact with.”
