Man Shot In Bloomfield After Denying Group Entry To Building: PD
Bloomfield PD: The victim was working the front door of an establishment and turned down a group of people due to capacity limits.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- A man was wounded during a shooting in Bloomfield early Sunday morning, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to 547 Bloomfield Avenue on report of shots fired at 3:32 a.m.
Officers found a 47-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his right hand. Patrol units secured the scene and detectives responded to investigate, police said.

The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

"Upon further investigation by Bloomfield detectives, it appears that the victim was working the front door of the establishment and denied entry to four males and one female this night/morning due to capacity restrictions. One of the males then pointed a handgun at the victim and fired three shots at him and he was struck in his right hand. The four males and female then fled the area on foot."
Bloomfield police are investigating the shooting. No additional information was immediately available, authorities said Sunday.
