Man Tries To Grab Woman’s Purse Near Bloomfield Supermarket: PD
A man tried to snatch a woman's purse as she was leaving a supermarket in Bloomfield, but he fled the scene empty-handed, police said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A man tried to snatch a woman’s purse as she was leaving a supermarket in Bloomfield last week but fled the scene empty-handed, authorities said Wednesday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the Stop & Shop on Franklin Street after getting a report about a strong-arm robbery attempt on June 17.
The victim told officers she was exiting the grocery store when a “newer-model” black Mercedes Benz C Class, pulled up alongside her. A man got out of the passenger-side door and tried to grab her purse, but was unable to wrestle it out of her arms, police said.

The man got back into the vehicle, which fled the scene towards Franklin Street, police said.
An investigation into the incident continues, Bloomfield police said.
