Music at the Mansion' Returns With Award-Winning Singer Tracy Stark
Monthly cabaret show returns to Oakeside this weekend.
The new installment of the monthly concert series, "Music at the Mansion," kicks off Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bloomfield's Oakeside Cultural Center.
NiCori Studios and Productions in association with Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center announces a new installment of the monthly concert series, "Music at the Mansion,” on Sunday, October 27, at 3 p.m. Performers include Gas Lamp Players' cast of The Secret Garden, Tracy Stark and DC Anderson. Lauren Barr will be featured the "Young Musician Moment.”
Singer-songwriter Tracy Stark is a six-time Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs Award winner, in the categories of Music Director, Piano Bar Entertainer, and Song of the Year. She is also a Bistro Award winner for Musical Direction, and winner of the Dottie Burman Songwriter of the Year Award. Tracy has worked with Lesley Gore, Phoebe Snow, Karen Black and other rock, jazz and Broadway vocalists and has played and conducted on numerous television shows, including the Today Show.
Bistro Award Winner D.C. Anderson is an actor/singer/songwriter whose credits include the Broadway production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. and the national tour: PIPPIN, THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF NICHOLAS NICKLEBY and MARTIN GUERRE. Anderson has nine solo CDs, including his holiday album "All is Calm, All is Bright."

Based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox, a young girl orphaned during the cholera epidemic in India, sent to live on a mysterious estate in Yorkshire, England whose magic garden beckons the children with haunting melodies and spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life. The Gas Lamp Players are bringing the music to Bloomfield in advance of a November run of the show.
"Music at the Mansion" is a 2013 Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs award nominated series showcasing talented performers from NYC and NJ. New York City cabaret singer and Bloomfield resident Corinna Sowers-Adler hosts the event with musical accompaniment by pianist Deborah Martin. This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. Series hostess Corinna Sowers-Adler has been nominated as "Best Host of a Variety Show" and "Best Female Vocalist" for the 2012 Broadway World Cabaret Awards.
