School Officials Take on High Stakes Testing

The Bloomfield Township Council meets on Monday night at 7:30 for a Conference Meeting in Room 205 of the Law Enforcement Building. According to the agenda, officials will discuss the contract for the Butterfly Park and the 2013 Capital budget.

The Bloomfield Board of Education meets at the Schools administration meeting room on Tuesday night. Public session starts at 7:30.  It is the first full meeting to be led by recently appointed Schools Superintendent Salvatore Goncalves.

The Library hosts a Halloween party for children from 11 am. to noon, including a a costume parade, a simple craft project and treats for children of all ages. 

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Bloomfield Board of Education, along with NJSBA, hosts a Town Hall Forum to discuss New Jersey’s mandates for new high-stakes tests at the Bloomfield High School Media Center, 160 Broad St.

The Bloomfield High School Varsity football team takes on East Orange 1 p.m. on Saturday at Foley Field.
