Spotlight On Bloomfield 'Heroes': Superintendent Sal Goncalves

BLOOMFIELD, NJ— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Since day one of this pandemic, Superintendent Goncalves has led 6500+ students and 1500 employees into the unknown world of Virtual Learning. He has been a great leader to the Bloomfield Schools community during this unprecedented time. He has been supportive, understanding, and a voice of calm for us all.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Superintendent Goncalves has come to work everyday during this difficult time to make sure the Bloomfield Schools community is safe, learning, fed, and functioning to the best of its ability.
