WHEREAS; the Mayor and Township Council takes great pride in the accomplishments of its athletic teams and would like to recognize the outstanding achievement of the St. Thomas the Apostle 3rd and 4th Grade Girls Basketball Team; and
WHEREAS; under the leadership of Head Coach John Garrison and Assistant Coaches Paul Drexler, Lester Cummings and Anthony Cianci, the team concluded its season with a record of 16-5-1; and
WHEREAS; some of the season highlights include being named Essex County CYO League Champions, President’s Day Weekend Tournament Champions and finished the season winning the last 12 games; and
WHEREAS; their effort, discipline, dedication, teamwork and sportsmanship earned them the admiration of classmates, faculty and the community and gained the respect of their opponents; and
WHEREAS; the experience of such an amazing accomplishment will hopefully thrust these young ladies to great successes in their academic and personal lives; and
WHEREAS; the members of this team are Kaylee Garrison, Emily Drexler, KC Cannon, Lyric Cummings, Alyssa Delgado, Janelle Epitime, Julia Rivera, Kennedy Vicioso and Alana Wright.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MICHAEL J. VENEZIA, as Mayor of the Township of Bloomfield, do hereby recognize the incredible job the 3rd and 4th grade Girls Basketball Team did this season and wish them the best of luck in the upcoming years.
