Stonewall Chorale Will Bring LGBTQ Pride To Bloomfield Temple

The community is invited to Temple Ner Tamid, located at 936 Broad Street in Bloomfield, on Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. for a special Artist-In -Resident program following evening services led by Rabbi Marc Katz and Cantor Meredith Greenberg. They will be joined by The Stonewall Chorale along with the Temple Ner Tamid choir members, Leora Perlman, Peri Smilow, Edward Alstrom and the Stonewall Orchestra.

Based in New York City, the Stonewall Chorale is the nation's first gay and lesbian chorus. Now in their 44th season, they are made up of people from the LGBTQ community and their allies.

Last year The Stonewall Chorale debuted at Carnegie Hall with Quiet No More, a breathtaking choral piece, written collaboratively by LGBTQ composers, and joined by LGBTQ choirs across the country in commemoration of the 50th Year Anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, a watershed moment that moved the community from narrowness to the beginning of a life of freedom and equality. Their mission is to enrich people’s lives through learning and performing beautiful choral music.

Join Temple Ner Tamid for an amazing night of prayer, song and community. Nosh begins at 6 p.m. followed by services at 6.30 p.m. A potluck dairy dinner follows. The concert will begin at 8 p.m.
