Taxi Driver Wrestles Purse Back From Thief In Bloomfield: Police
A taxi driver was waiting for a customer when a man walked up to her passenger side window and grabbed her purse, Bloomfield police said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A would-be-thief tried to steal a taxi driver’s purse in Bloomfield last week, but she managed to wrestle it back, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the area of 57 Washington Street on April 17 after receiving a report about a robbery that just took place.
The victim – a taxi driver – said she was waiting for a customer when a man walked up to her passenger side window and grabbed her purse. After a short struggle, she was able to get the purse back.

The suspect then fled through a nearby alley behind 57 Washington Street, police said.
The victim described the suspect as a man in his early 20s. He was about 5 feet 5 inches with a thin build, and was wearing a blue and red hooded sweatshirt, authorities said.
