Westbridge Academy Hosts Workshop with Famed 'Principal Kafele'

BLOOMFIELD- Westbridge Academy, a state-approved specialized school serving students with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges continues to support the community by inviting famed ‘Principal Kafele’ to present an engaging and interactive workshop. Closing the Attitude Gap: How to Fire Up Your Students to Strive for Success will help school leaders, Child Study Team members and special educators learn effective strategies to inspire struggling and at-risk students to succeed, both at school and in life.

Principal Kafele is internationally recognized as a master teacher and transformational school leader having helped thousands of education professionals and students through over 2,000 workshops and 8 books. He will help attendees understand the impact of student and staff attitudes and will offer strategies to create classrooms conducive to closing the attitude gap, as well as ways to create caring and meaningful relationships with students. Attendees will be able to apply information and strategies immediately in their schools and classrooms.

“There are many students who ‘act out’ or seem disengaged in school when they’re burdened with personal circumstances that understandably affect their attitude and confidence,” said Dr. Litovsky, the executive director of Westbridge Academy. “With the right mindset and an effective approach, every student can succeed - even those who have experienced trauma and failure in the education system. I hope educators will take advantage of this powerful workshop,” she added.

The workshop will be on Friday March 8th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the school’s campus on 60 West Street in Bloomfield. The free workshop is offered as an outreach service to support the community in and around Bloomfield. Educators will have the opportunity to earn 3 CEUs.
