Woman Robbed at Gunpoint, Police say

Two men reportedly took purse, cell phone from East Orange resident.

A 28-year-old East Orange woman was robbed at gunpoint on Prospect St. near Carteret St., Bloomfield police said. 

On Monday, Sept. 30 at approximately 11:25 p.m., a man armed with a handgun and a second man reportedly pushed the woman against a tree. Police said the men took the victim’s cell phone and purse before running south on Prospect St.

Police said the victim described the men as two black males in black clothing and hooded sweatshirts hiding their faces.

A witness reportedly spotted two males fitting the description of the suspects enter a four door grey Acura TL that double parked on Prospect St. and drive southbound on Prospect St. toward East Orange.

Police said a search of the area turned up nothing.
