Woman’s Car Breaks Down, Bloomfield Bike Cops Give Her A Push

Talk about being in the right place at the right time.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Talk about being in the right place at the right time.

A motorist recently got a power assist from several Bloomfield police officers when her car broke down, authorities reported Wednesday.

Luckily, her car troubles took place right in front of Bloomfield’s newest bicycle patrol officers, who were training in the area at the time, police said.

The officers were happy to take a brief break to give the woman a push, police said.

Earlier this month, the Bloomfield Division of Public Safety recently announced that it's going to be ramping up the number of local cops on bike patrols. As of July, there are 13 officers undergoing the necessary certification to hit the streets on two wheels.
