6 Candidates To Run For Bridgewater Township Council

Incumbent Republicans Filipe Pedroso, Allen Kurdyla, and Howard Norgalis versus Democrats Jill Gladstone, Jennifer Feigley and Saad Toor.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June and six candidates have announced their intention to run for the three Bridgewater Township Council seats.

Incumbent Republicans Filipe Pedroso, Allen Kurdyla, and Howard Norgalis are running against Democrats Jill Gladstone, Jennifer Feigley and Saad Toor in the November election.

Kurdyla currently serves as Council Vice President and has lived in Bridgewater since 1967. He volunteers with the Finderne Fire Department and was first elected to council in 2003.

Norgalis was elected to the council in 2004. Previously he served as the Chairman of the Planning Board and had 6 years of experience on the Zoning Board of Adjustments.

Pedroso currently serves as Council President and moved to Bridgewater in 1977. For over 10 years, Pedroso was a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustments, and was elected to serve as its Vice-Chairman. For over 13 years, Pedroso has volunteered on the Centerbridge II senior housing building's Board of Directors.

Gladstone currently serves as a member of the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education, having been elected in 2007 and re-elected four times since. Gladstone's service on the Board includes three years as its president, four years as vice president and chairmanship of several committees.

Feigley has served the Somerset County Mask Squad in helping to distribute PPE to local workers and families as well as helping to lead the Bridgewater Vaccine Angels, a group volunteering to secure vaccine appointments for local seniors and those with qualifying medical conditions.

Toor is now an upper school World History teacher at The Pingry School in Bernards Township, where he also coaches middle school basketball and soccer.

The primary election will occur on June 8 and the general election will occur on Nov. 2.
