BRIDGEWATER, NJ — More than two months after it was slated to open, Tommy’s Tavern + Tap will open its first Somerset County location on Thursday in what the restaurant’s ownership group will be a strong community relationship moving forward.

The restaurant, which also has locations in Freehold, Sea Bright, Princeton, Clifton, and Staten Island, is scheduled to open at 4 p.m. The eatery, which offers everything from pizza to sushi and plenty of other culinary options in between, will take over the space previously occupied by Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar at 550 Somerset Corporate Blvd., across from the Bridgewater Commons mall near Route 202/206.

“Opening any new location is not an easy task, let alone in the midst of coming out of a pandemic,” Andrea Bonfiglio, the chief marketing officers for Tommy’s Tavern + Tap, wrote in an email to Patch on Wednesday. “We were also definitely having staffing issues (as everyone is) but were able to get a great team together so we can confidently open our doors to the public (on Thursday).”

In addition to a sizable menu, the restaurant offers a full bar with 24 circulating taps that will boast an array of local craft beers, Bonfiglio said. The restaurant offers a collection of TVs both indoors and on the outdoor patio, which makes the establishment a good option for watching games.
