The Bradford Rooftop Bar Brings New York City Feel To Bridgewater
The new rooftop bar and restaurant opened recently atop AC Hotel in Bridgewater. Patch checked it out, see what we thought about it:
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — When the weekend rolls around it's always nice to head out for some fun. But if you are anything like myself, driving an hour into the city, paying tolls, finding parking and then having to drive all the way back to Bridgewater is not worth it. Luckily a new hot spot opened up in the township bringing all the New York City feels.
The Bradford rooftop bar and restaurant opened on March 18 atop the seventh floor of the new AC Hotel at 600 Somerset Corporate Blvd. across from the Bridgewater Commons.
I thought to myself, a rooftop bar in Bridgewater? Let's check it out.

Upon entering the hotel you are greeted by a podium with a hostess waiting to take your reservation before being ushered up an elevator to the top of the hotel.
The entire floor is designated for the restaurant and bar giving it a modern, upscale lounge feel. There are fireplaces, comfy couches and glamourous crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The bars are lit up from the bottom and lined with white roses up above.

We started the night off with a Paloma - 100% Agave Tequila, Grapefruit, Lime - and an Espresso Martini - St George’s NOLA Coffee, Vodka, Espresso. Both were delicious and highly recommend.
The menu also offers an assortment of dishes that are designed for sharing. Our favorites were the Steak Tartare Pretzel (smoked aioli, pickled mustard seed, micro celery), Tuna Tartare Tostada (poke sauce, avocado mouse, wonton chips), Mahi Mahi Tacos (tajin, chipotle + red cabbage slaw, avocado) and the 14oz New York Strip (red chimichurri).
We weren't a fan of the Shisito Peppers (Asian chimichurri) and another guest mentioned the Mediterranean Spice Meatballs (tzatziki, eggplant, roasted red pepper, toasted pine nuts) were a bit dry.
Overall, the mix of drinks and food creates an enjoyable place to kick back on the couch and catch up with friends. Additionally, a live DJ was also entertaining bringing music while at a volume to still converse with others.
The bathrooms were spotless and very well maintained. Social distancing and cleanliness were spot-on.
The prices are a bit higher than going out to a regular bar but it is a treat that is well worth it.
The Bradford's opening days and hours are Wednesday and Thursday 5 to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. until midnight.
