Somerset County Parks Closed Tuesday, Wednesday for Deer Hunt
A total of 33 deer have already been killed in the first two days of the hunt for 2017.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Deer hunting continues at Somerset County Parks on Tuesday and Wednesday as park of the Somerset County Park Commission’s deer management program.
Duke Island Park will be closed until noon on Jan. 17 and Washington Valley County Park will be closed all day on Jan. 18.
The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Shotgun Season will run through select dates in January and February in Washington Valley County Park and Duke Island Park.

Future hunting days:
- Washington Valley County Park will be closed: Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 and Feb. 8.
- Duke Island Park will be closed until noon: Feb. 7.
A total of 17 deer were killed in the first day on Jan. 4 at Washington Valley County Parkincluding 15 Does, 1 Shed and 1 Buck. On the second day of the hunt, 16 were killed including: 7 Does, 5 Button Bucks, 2 Sheds and 2 Bucks, according to Bridgewater Township Director of Human Services.

The deer count for the 2015-2016 season was 75 deer, according to Chris Poulsen, Director of Human Services in Bridgewater.
