"We chose this for our project not only because we love our four-legged friends, we also wanted to help our local shelter provide these lonely animals a loving home," said a Girl Scout named Riley at the Council meeting on April 20.
Along with the event, the Girl Scouts are working on educating the public about shelter animals and ways to help. Pamphlets made by the Scouts are available at the entrance of the shelter at 100 Commons Way in Bridgewater.

"These animals are lonely and need a loving home. They need a voice and a second chance at a loving family. The experience of adopting one is unlike any other," said another Scout.

Councilman Filipe Pedroso, who serves of the SRAS Board, congratulated the girls on a "fantastic job."
"I thank you for bringing awareness to this important issue and everything you are doing," said Pedroso.
