Bridgewater JCC Dedicates Splash Pad At Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Bridgewater held a ceremony that included a dedication and ribbon cutting of the JCC’s Amy & Seth Geldzahler Splash Pad. The ceremony was part of the JCC’s Annual Meeting held on June 10 at the JCC, located on Talamini Road in Bridgewater.

The Amy & Seth Geldzahler Splash Pad is ADA compliant and includes more than 20 water elements. It is designed to be enjoyed by individuals of all ages regardless of physical abilities.

According to Paige Silberfein, JCC Associate Executive Director, “Our JCC realized the importance of building a Splash Pad on the JCC campus for our campers and members with disabilities so that they could have equal access to enjoy water activities. Inclusion is a key aspect of our agency mission, and we strongly believe that every individual should be afforded the same opportunities. We are so proud that our Special Needs program has grown into one that is impacting and enriching lives beyond our expectations. We gratefully acknowledge our Board of Directors and all of the donors for their generosity and enabling this dream to become a reality.”

Special needs programs offered by the JCC include The J-Zone Respite Program for children ages 5-16; J-Cares Adult Intern Program; The J-Connect Social Program for Adults; Adaptive Aquatics Skills Program and the Rising Tide Special Olympics Swim Team. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center, JCC Camp Ruach and J-Crew After School Program work with families with children with special needs. The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center is a social service agency that serves residents of all ages residing in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, providing fitness, recreational, social, cultural and educational programs for the entire community.
