Bridgewater Man ID'd As Pedestrian Fatally Hit By Train In Essex Co.
The 21-year-old was a Bridgewater-Raritan High School graduate and was attending Seton Hall University, studying business.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ ? A 21-year-old Bridgewater man was identified as the pedestrian fatally hit by a NJ Transit train last week.
Joseph DeBari was hit by a train not in passenger service on the Morris & Essex line on Dec. 13 at 7:37 p.m. located west of the South Orange Station, according to an NJ Transit spokesman.
There were no customers on board. No injuries were reported to the crew.

DeBari lived in Bridgewater all of his life, and enjoyed playing and watching all sports, and participating in fantasy sports leagues, according to his obituary on kearnsfuneralhome.com.
DeBari was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School and was attending Seton Hall University, studying business.

"He was a big NY Mets fan and had fun going to lots of Giants and Jets football and NJ Devils hockey games. He was also a big supporter of Seton Hall basketball and was an editor of the sports section of the Seton Hall newspaper. What he enjoyed the most however was spending time in the summer going to the beach with family and friends," according to his obituary.
DeBari is survived by his parents Giovanni and Angela DeBari, his brother Christopher, and his maternal grandfather Albert Demeter, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse Station.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
