Car Ignites Into Flames On I-287 In Bridgewater
Finderne Firefighters extinguished a car fire on Friday morning on I-287 south.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A car ignited into flames on I-287 in Bridgewater on Friday morning.
Finderne Firefighters went to the highway at milepost 13 around 10:30 a.m. to extinguish the fire.
A Nissan Altima caught fire in the right shoulder, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.

The people inside the car had gotten out before emergency responders arrived. There were no injures, said Curry.
The fire was extinguished and cleared within 30 minutes, Finderne Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
Finderne Fire Department is entirely volunteer-run and is always in need of volunteers. The department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, responds to about 400 calls per year and currently operates three Engines, a Tower Ladder and a Heavy Rescue.
