Councilman Shows Support for Lonegan Senate Campaign

Matthew Moench encourages residents to vote for the Republican in October.

To the Editor:

Mayor Steve Lonegan has been a strong conservative voice throughout our state, standing up for the principles of small government, lower taxes and individual freedom. As the former mayor of Bogota, Mayor Lonegan understands firsthand the concerns that residents in New Jersey face. Mayor Lonegan was also able to win election in a democratic town that voted for President Barack Obama by over 60 percent in 2008. Mayor Lonegan was able to succeed by staying true to Republican principles.

I am confident that if we send him to Washington, Mayor Lonegan will continue his hard work for the residents of our state.

In Bridgewater, I have consistently voted to reduce spending and to stand up for conservative principles. I know that Steve Lonegan will be a partner in these efforts and provide the residents of Bridgewater with a strong, fiscally conservative voice in the United States Senate.

This year, New Jersey has a unique opportunity to elect a Republican to the U.S. Senate to continue the work that will be started by Sen. Chiesa. It is time for the Republican Party to unite behind Steve Lonegan and to continue Republican representation after October.

Under Gov. Chris Christie’s leadership, the Republican Party has never been stronger. New Jersey residents are embracing Republican ideas at the same time that the Democratic Party is in disarray. While the Democratic candidates fight amongst themselves for the opportunity to raise taxes and expand government, Republicans should quickly unite behind Mayor Lonegan so we can focus on the October general election and spreading our Republican message.

I look forward to working with Mayor Lonegan’s campaign and to assist in sharing his message to Bridgewater voters.

Sincerely,

Matthew Moench
