Count In Bridgewater School Board Election Continues: No Update

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Somerset County Board of Elections continues to count votes in this year's Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education election.

As of Wednesday at 7:15 p.m., though, there were no updates to the unofficial results in Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education race.

As of Wednesday, the county counted 142,172 vote-by-mail ballots out of the roughly 233,000 ballots sent out countywide, according to Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter.

In Bridgewater, 21,407 ballots have been counted out of the 32,432 sent out to township residents, Peter said.

Nathan Rudy, the spokesman for Somerset County, said votes will continue to be counted daily and updated periodically on the county's election board website. However, official results are not expected until Nov. 20 at the earliest.

As of Wednesday, Jessica Levitt and Barry Walker appear to be leading the race in a heated Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School Board Election, according to unofficial results.

Levitt and Walker were among four candidates vying for the two, three-year seats. The other two candidates are Scott Mihalick and John-Paul Levin.

Here are the latest unofficial results as of 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday:

  • Jessica Levitt: 9,488
  • Barry R. Walker: 8,164
  • John-Paul Levin: 5,797
  • Scott Mihalick: 4,349

There were also two unopposed seats. Chingchaun "Jean" Lee ran unopposed for the one, one-year unexpired term. Lucretia "Lucy" Sandler ran unopposed for the one, three-year seat representing Raritan.
