Drive-By Egg Hunt Set For Somerset County Families
The free socially-distanced event allows families to decorate eggs and display them outside of their home for others to find.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — It's been one year since the pandemic hit and one year since Branchburg mother Jaime Marie DelRocco scrambled to find activities for her son.
That's when she launched her scavenger hunts and a year later they continue to be a hit in the community. DelRocco is now hosting her 9th hunt the "Drive-By Egg Hunt Adventure" this weekend for Somerset County families to celebrate Easter in a socially-distanced way.
"I have mixed emotions. It's exciting and a happy thing to have been doing this for a year but I think about the reason why I had to do it and it is not such a happy thing," said DelRocco, mother of two-year-old Niko Sky.

However, DelRocco said she is happy she can continue to offer an event for families that are just not ready to interact with others amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"This is appealing to all groups of families at any comfort level," said DelRocco.

DelRocco, a dance and theater teacher, hosts the hunts under her business The Adventures Of Jamerz And B. The free drive-by hunt will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. to Sunday at 4 p.m. for families in Branchburg, Bridgewater, Somerville, Raritan, Bound Brook, Hillsborough and Manville.
Families interested in participating can send an email to jamerzandb@gmail.com with their street name and town by Thursday.
Families are asked to get creative and make as many colorful, creative eggs as they can with their family and hanging them on their doors, windows and outside their homes.
Families can then share their custom eggs by posingt photos on social media with the hashtag #jamerzandb.
The Egg Hunt map and game will be posted on facebook.com/jamerzandb by Friday. Then on Saturday and Sunday, using the egg hunt map, families can drive around to find all the eggs hung up by other families and play the game as they go along.
The family who posts a photo of the golden egg with #jamerzandb wins a prize. All entries must be posted by Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
DelRocco is planning to either continue hosting the drive-by hunts or other events to bring the community together.
"I think people are still excited about these events after a year and this is the kind of feel-good spirit that was able to come alive in our community even amidst such an unimaginable tragedy," said DelRocco. "We need to come together for each other…we need to keep the happiness around for everyone especially for the kids."
