First Robotics is a national organization that encourages students in grades kindergarten through 12 to explore technology and science through robotics. Competitions are held at local, regional and national levels, with students designing and building robots to achieve certain goals.
In this 2013 season, according to a release from the team, the robots will be throwing Frisbees across playing fields and then climbing pyramids. Points will be earned by seeing the number of discs thrown into the targets and how high the robot can climb.
This is the first time the high school will be hosting the competition.
