Power Outages In Somerset County Amid Tropical Storm Fay
A flash flood watch is issued through Friday night in Somerset County.
SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County has been dealing with the effects of Tropical Storm Fay on Friday as power outages were reported. A flash flood watch has also been issued for Somerset County.

PSE&G is reporting about 60 outages in Bridgewater and Franklin, while JCP&L is reporting more than 200 in Bedminster, Basking Ridge and Bernardsville.

Additionally, County Route 605 in Montgomery is closed at Blue Spring Road due to flooding.
The flash flood watch, issued by the National Weather Service is in effect through this Friday night as heavy rain is expected throughout the day.

Widespread amounts of 1 to 4 inches are likely with locally higher amounts possible, according to the NWS.
With heavy rain expected to occur over a short period of time it is likely rapidly rising flood waters may quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties, according to the NWS.
Here is a look at the upcoming weekend weather:
Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 80. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then showers likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 70. Windy, with a north wind 25 to 35 mph becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Saturday: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 8 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday: A chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
