Green Knoll Grill Temporarily Closes Due To COVID Restrictions
Due to the coronavirus restrictions, Green Knoll Grill is temporarily closed for 60 days and will reopen at the beginning of March.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — You can add Green Knoll Grill to the growing list of township businesses who are feeling the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. The 50-plus-year-old Bridgewater restaurant was forced to temporarily close recently.
"Because of all of the COVID restrictions and regulations, it just wasn't worth it to remain open," said Lisa DiChiara, who owns the restaurant at 645 Route 202/206 in Bridgewater, with her husband Joe.
DiChiara said they tried to keep the restaurant open for as long as possible through all of the changes to business restrictions. She noted that even with the limited capacity they had a line of people waiting outside to come in.

They also had much success with Door Dash.
"It was very good but it was not enough for the amount of food we had," said DiChiara. "It wasn't worth it since we weren't turning over enough volume."

Green Knoll Grill is now temporarily closed for 60 days and will reopen at the beginning of March with a "big" grand reopening, said DiChiara.
She added that the restaurant is planning to unveil a new menu, lots of games and more new things to keep customers coming back.
In the meantime, DiChiara said the outdoor, heated and enclosed tiki bar will remain open on Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. until close (around 2 a.m.). Only drinks will be served, no food.
"We used to have food but the food is only good for so long. And like everything else, it wasn't worth it," said DiChiara.
By keeping the bar open, DiChiara is hoping it will let customers know the restaurant is still there.
"This whole situation is sad, just sad," said DiChiara.
