Kangaroo Kids is Advocating for New Jersey’s Youngest Learners
Kangaroo Kids Child Care and Learning Center supports quality education for young children.
The students, staff and families at Kangaroo Kids Child Care and Learning Center in Branchburg, a leader in early childhood education for nearly 30 years sent a message to State lawmakers to make New Jersey babies a priority when making decisions by participating in Strolling Thunder an event sponsored by Advocates for Children of New Jersey. The event was forced to go virtual this year as families, children and teachers took to the sidewalks at the school and in their neighborhoods to spread awareness of the importance of family support and quality child care for babies. They look forward to joining in sing-a-longs, yoga classes and story time from their homes and from the school on August 12, 2020 when ANJC hosts their virtual rally for babies.
Melissa Reilley-Grecco, Kindergarten teacher and Curriculum Specialist coordinated the event at Kangaroo Kids. The children enjoyed the stroll along with a positive lesson about walking safety, and caring for others, all in an effort to support quality care for our youngest learners.
According to Advocates for Children of New Jersey, “From birth to age 3, the brain grows faster than any other point in time, laying the foundation for the rest of a child’s life. Strolling Thunder New Jersey aims to bring attention to what our youngest children need to thrive: quality child care, healthy starts for babies and support for their new parents.”

Kangaroo Kids is one of only 7% of schools nationwide to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and stands behind their philosophy to provide a creative, safe and fun educational experience where children develop a love of learning in a family friendly environment that is positive, professional and caring. This early nurturing of self-confidence and a love of learning have benefits that last a lifetime. Through a comprehensive curriculum and assessment process that begins with infants and continues through the full day kindergarten program, the staff at Kangaroo Kids works to ensure that each child has the support and tools needed to meet their cognitive, physical and social and emotional milestones. The program is rich in hands-on and meaningful experiences facilitated by caring and committed staff that form lasting bonds with the children. When parents & caregivers respond to infants’ feelings of joy, interest, & excitement, they stimulate their neural connections – the foundation for all development. By participating in Strolling Thunder Kangaroo Kids wants to send a message to state leaders to continue to support the child care system so that all children can experience dancing in the rain, watching a garden grow and a butterfly flutter, or laugh with a loving and trusted child care provider as they pop bubbles or catch falling snowflakes.
