BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Tasha is an 11-month-old kitten with a big heart problem and needs your help.

Tasha, who is being cared for by the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, was born with a heart defect called PDA – Patent Ductus Arteriosus. Her heart is starting to enlarge and the surgery to fix it will cost $3,000.

"Unlike other kittens her age, tiny Tasha sleeps a lot. Unless she receives specialized surgery, her heart will become increasingly damaged, and her life will be shortened," according to the Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter (FOSRAS).

To allow Tasha to have a normal life she needs corrective surgery to repair her heart.

"The cost of her medical care is out of our budget, and we need your help," according to FORAS. "We do not turn away from challenges. We believe that every life matters, and we are confident you share our life-affirming mission. A donation in any amount will help Tasha live a long and healthy life."
